3rd that, Mine over heats really easy and I have to balance it over a edge so I don't cover the fan. @Jssy; That's exactly what happened to mine, It gets jammed easy and it's annoying

Sometimes the higher-end consumer Dell's aren't built to last. Their Business stuff is fantastic though.

Toshiba used to be fairly good but they've definitely been on the decline.

I've had two toshiba's, one of them the charge broke in like a week,

The other one screen came off the hinge.

Changed to a Macbook Pro afterwards.

I've only ever had a hp, that broke but Wed had it years. Then an Asus that over heats but works fine and now I have another hp, had to send it off as the battery was broke but no more problems. I haven't had a Toshiba but it doesn't look amazing.

Years ago you would of heard great things about toshiba. Nowadays all you hear is bad things . Most companys just try to use cheaper parts, I'm a man who believes you get what you pay for . Sure, a mac costs a grand but you never hear many problems (Example, I'm not a mac fanboy so don't go ape ****). I've had my laptop for around 4 or 5 years now and it's still going strong, the universal cable broke only last week so I can't charge it now but when I can use it, it works wonders. The laptop did decide to go on fire after the wires connecting to the monitor became exposed from opening / closing the lid constantly. If a laptop can last 4/5 years in my care I think it's safe to say it's a good laptop.

I got a dell pc a year or two ago (using it now) and it still is pretty fast. The only problem with dell is their support is pretty **** imo and I'm almost certain they've leaked my information (phone number, address etc) unless someone hacked into their system because the person who phoned me trying to get me to ship my pc to them had all my information including the order number. I had to speak to the police as the men phoning me told me if I didn't want to get harassed that I need to change my number, cheeky *******s. So other than their ****** support and security I'd say purchase from them.

Sorry for hi-jacking your thread with my amazing storys

People might say that some things which don't work i.e. the laptop button collapsing in on itself is a result of a crappy build but in reality it could happen to any laptop. Had Dells for years along with custom built PCs, they are brilliant.
