I completely agree with you that the safety of children online is of paramount importance but what I don't agree with is the way that it has and is being handled. Encouraging users to wise up about sexual predators is good. So long as they know that there's a report feature there and an emergency exit button then every user should be able to get involved. Involving the community is great, excluding the majority is not.
Perhaps you are sending legit reports, but is it really because you think they're so terrible that they need to be removed (I wouldn't have said inactive rooms or party rooms were offensive or warranted removal) or is it just because you think the more tickets you send the better chance you have?
Being recognised as a 'safety rep'S) will almost certainly include a badge, don't you think? Why do you want to be recognised so bad? If you really were there to help then you would help regardless, not in anticipation of a badge, a tweet from Paul, or whatever. It's great that you run an (albeit desolate?) helpdesk and it's cute that you've got a bunch of likeminded people to assist you with your endeavours...
@Plebings; once said "I don't mind elitism - so long as I'm part of the elite!". I think this applies very accurately to the behaviour of you and a few others like you. You're so caught up with becoming high up in this programme that you don't seem to realise what an effect it'll have on those that aren't quite so... determined... as you.
