What currently active people. It's rare to see the help desk get over 15 people in. And normally most of them are AFK members of staff who got bored because there's no event. Those who come on habbo to just chat to friends can still do so.

I disagree, their has been a tournament on for the last couple of week but usually its the desk that is popular and events struggle to get the people in.
well now for example theres 12 people in there, of which every single member is a 'regular'
Changing HxHD into some room full of idiots who are there solely for the prize and no intention of joining the community and/or begging for furni is going to put everyone off
Changing HxHD at all will just put whichever loyal visitors are left off, I know myself if HxHD changed into some crappy gaming room I'd rather leave it and I've been using the help desk since 2004..
Yes the help desk doesn't reach the max numbers but why the hell should it, it's a help desk not a room with the aim to get full.. for years it's had a few people who need help and mainly regulars who enjoy chatting without the aforementioned idiots.
Valid point. But I don't exactly see swarms of people joining Habbox anymore.well now for example theres 12 people in there, of which every single member is a 'regular'

Since writing the original post, I admit that it's probably best not to fill the room with exciting things that will attract the noobs, but I still think that it should be made into a Hub, less emphasis on the desk, more emphasis on connecting all of Habbox together and making it the central zone for Habbox.
And you ask why it should get a full room: because HxHD has always been the on client base for Habbox, it's meant to represent it. (that's not phrased very well, but I can't think of the appropriate words). Also, I have been around HxHD since 2005/6 and I know that it used to be a hell of a lot busier than it is now.

HxHD was a lot busier in 2005/6 because habbo was a lot busier in 2005/6.Valid point. But I don't exactly see swarms of people joining Habbox anymore.

You don't see swarms of people joining Habbo either, so consequently same is going to apply for every fansite
While we're at it why not compare the what 20 active listeners of HxL to the 300+ in 05/06?
HxHD works fine for it's purpose, to help people. Anytime someone comes in usually someone will aid them and there'll usually be 5-15+ people in there chilling/chatting.
HxHD isn't the on client base for Habbox, some department had their own, HxL would always have their DJs in a room, HxE would have event rooms for example.
I have nothing to say about the radio because I have no knowledge in that area nor would I know how to help it.HxHD was a lot busier in 2005/6 because habbo was a lot busier in 2005/6.

HxHD will still be there, still offering help and still providing a service, I merely wish to see development around it to bring in what we can.
HxHD is the only room to be open or in use 24/7, events rooms and DJ partys are only really busy during their time period. It would be really good to connect it all into one room tho, via teleport. THAT is the main thing I'm trying to put across.
Former Competitions Manager
So you want someone on to change the teleporters every hour to the appropriate dj/event? :SI have nothing to say about the radio because I have no knowledge in that area nor would I know how to help it.

What Scott said basically, be very awkward to keep changing Tele each hour, and u can't just keep the teles always there as some people might not use group rooms for their event or frequently change rooms, (I definitely did myself) and keeping them all would make for a very messy room anyway, and rather confusing unless teles went around edge of a 700 tile room with stickies above them
This was just a general idea that could be introduced with or without habbox hub. What Scott said basically, be very awkward to keep changing Tele each hour, and u can't just keep the teles always there as some people might not use group rooms for their event or frequently change rooms, (I definitely did myself) and keeping them all would make for a very messy room anyway, and rather confusing unless teles went around edge of a 700 tile room with stickies above them
I was thinking more along the lines of 1 Tele leads from HxHD to an "Events hallway" where the tele's to the events room are kept, (each eo has one). When the EA is hosting an event s/he turns their specific tele in the hallway round so it's accessible (the others would not be) and go from there. That's really not much effort.
I don't know how group furni works so I can't really comment on that.
Former Competitions Manager
then you don't need to turn habbox into a hub you stick a tele in the help desk... but all thats gonna happen is people still enter the room via the actual room and not the 'hub' lol
