It's snobbery. You usually get it from readers of the Guardian (which is running at a loss) and even the Telegraph who demean the like of the Daily Mail, the Sun and The Express for their showbiz columns. All you have to do it look at the top sellers to see what sells (The Sun and the Mail being the top two newspaper by miles).

The Sun isn't my kind of paper, neither was the News of the World - but they still do a heck of a lot, with NoTW for example was very good at the stings and exposing coverups and The Sun I congratulate for helping keep us out of the Euro currency.

And still the politicians scratch their heads as to why Britain is failing in many things (including education). Maybe it's time to send these "celebrities" and their "fans" to Australia like the good old days?
