is it ok to be gay?

If you want to be gay, go for it. Not bothering me, doesn't offend me. So why should I hate people who are gay. Also, I don't believe religion is a reason to hate gays/not agree with being gay.

All the major Abrahamic religions (specifically Christianity and especially Islam) forbid acting on homosexuality ... if you think any different then you´ve fallen for the guff that the unChristian, social democratic Church of England puts out.

Whether you agree that acting upon it is wrong is another debate altogether, but I really can´t stand it when people bend the Holy Book and thousands of years of religious teachings to create the illusion that it´s approved of ... again, something the CoE does quite often.

Surely if you it can be bent so easily then religion is a load of old tosh nobody should follow to begin with.

Um not really ... think of the CoE doing to the Bible what the Conservative Party does to conservatism and you´ll get my point. Again though, many will dismiss the Bible as waffle and thats a fair position to take ... but what isnt a fair position to take is twisting the Bible totally out of context as the CoE does.
