Create-A-Sim is still going ahead, but it's just one feature that does roughly the same thing as what you will find in Spore, but will not be used again once you're in gameplay. EA have essentially cut out yet another important gameplay feature :/
To be fair a patch doesn't mean you'll have to pay. I know that the way EA has charged for extras in recent years has been annoying, but since they got a new CEO this year things seem to be changing. Simcity has gotten more free addons so far this year than optional paid ones. Not to mention that they got rid of online passes this year!

It should be in it from the start to make the base game actually worth buying, especially at the inflated estimated prices retailers seem to be giving, and that's "IF" it ever comes to The Sims 4!

SimCity is still a really awful game and shouldn't be associated with real SimCity games from the first to 4 and Rush Hour. Heck, SimCity Society has a better engine than SimCity 2013, the routing issues in SimCity Societies are/were non-existing and the system itself was far superior than they are in the latest abomination to come from that company.

create a sim and building a house is actually the fav part of the game for me, so if they remove that or simplify it I probably won't buy :/

The current routing system in simcity isn't too bad. Also did you get simcity 4 when it first came out? There was a huge number of bugs, and the routing system and transportation was terrible. People complained like hell on the Internet, and simcity 4 wasn't even as publicized before launch! Rush hour and subsequent patches helped it a bit, but it wasn't until years later when modders made the NAM that the transport system and routing became good. I remember huge portions of cities suddenly dying just because the roads stopped working correctly! :L

I really didn't like simcity societies (it wasn't even a simcity really), but the new simcity in its current state isn't too bad. The main problem I have now is that they still haven't really opened the game to modders despite saying they would soon.

They have no plans to do that from looking at the trailer. Tbh it's very unlikely that they would do that.

Both are in it. In fact, the first reveal trailers for the game shows both of those in action - building a house is now easier, and you can have curved fences (not walls) and the create-a-sim feature now mimics the Spore creature creator where you just zoom to enlarge certain areas.

I had SimCity 4 when it first came and routing was awful, but thankfully there was so much more to do in the game and in some way trying to solve the problem using the vast amount of space in a map helped make the game a bit more interesting. SimCity 2013 is featureless in comparison to SimCity 4.

I wasn't a fan of SimCity Society as it was just about placing individual buildings and didn't require any economic skill, but at least the routing problems never existed. A Sim kept to one house, rather than randomly live in any residential lot they can find after they quit work (they lack an intelligence or memory system in 2013).

OMG I'm so excited for The Sims 4! I don't care what they do with it, because I trust EA and their decisions with the franchise...
