EoC may be better for now, but as you said it's still in beta. Jagex stated that both damages will be optimal, and if they're not similar I can imagine there being a lot of complaints and lack of people rejoining (which is the reason they're re-introducing legacy in the first place, trying to get back members after their second (arguably first) largest mistake in RS history)

So if they do leave Legacy severely lower damage then no-one will rejoin
The thing is, EoC should give more damage, because you're using more effort, and more effort should equal more damage/XP, although they do need to do more balancing, the difference shouldn't be as much as it currently is. I think EoC will always have an advantage in PKing anyway, because you can always choose the moment when you want to deal more damage, as opposed to Legacy where you'll just be hoping for a big hit.

spec is a big part of pking, especially with godswords/clash rushing. idk if that'll be introduced to eoc somehow or just legacy, and they'll have legacy only worlds.

The damage difference between EoC and Legacy should be so small that you can't notice the difference imho. otherwise they're not going to win anyone over and no-ones going to return because the few people who did stick with it will do a lot better damage, so it's simply not worth returning as the combat system they've gave you back is inferior to EoC.

I know I'll be fine if I tried it, but I don't want to try it unless it's legacy

As I've said countless times if I want a button mash then I'll play WoW.

I'm pretty sure Legacy is a project by Runescape to bring the old style of combat back to RS3. So no abilities, just click the thing you want to attack and it hits it - just like the old style of combat before EoC.

@Kardan; what do you think of EoC? I feel as though I'm the only one who likes it.. revolution is absolutely excellent. Abilities bring more to the table.. why all the love for the past? Nostalgia? People don't like change?

EOC's great with revolution. There was so much negativity before it was even released that I made sure I got 99 Slayer under the old system, and I regret all that rushing now, so much easier with EOC.

People liked RS for the Simplicity

As I said earlier if I want to play a game with a button mash/20 button rotation then i'll simply jump back on World of Warcraft, as well as it being a button mash it's a much better 'combat system' than runescape is.

I played RS for the Simplicity in the combat system 'click and hit', soon as EoC was announced everyone I played with quit as no-one had any interest in the new combat system and most irl people jumped back on WoW/Diablo.
