I've only ever been on the bus in London a handful of times and you're correct. But where I live, just outside London you can still pay with real money (haha) and if you have anything larger than change you generally get the dirtiest looks and comments from the bus drivers which is just not needed.
ohgod yeah whenever i lost my oyster i used to pay with money but if they didnt have change they wouldnt let me on the bus but its like hello i am trying to get somewhere??? sometimes they were nice n let me on for free though and would give me a special ticket where ur supposed to pay them back and they take ur details and stuff but they dont ask for ur details and pretend you gave it to them so youre allowed on the busI've only ever been on the bus in London a handful of times and you're correct. Yah that really annoys me. It's not my job to provide the bus company with the correct change, it's down to them to give me right change if I don't have the right money. If they can't provide the change then they shouldn't kick you off of the bus, they should let you on for free, it's their issue that they need to address and not yours as you're trying to pay. That's proper annoying. I feel your pain. I'm glad I literally never get the bus #wooohgod yeah whenever i lost my oyster i used to pay with money but if they didnt have change they wouldnt let me on the bus but its like hello i am trying to get somewhere??? sometimes they were nice n let me on for free though and would give me a special ticket where ur supposed to pay them back and they take ur details and stuff but they dont ask for ur details and pretend you gave it to them so youre allowed on the bus

Yeah, i always do!
i say thanks to bus drivers only when i run to catch the bus and the driver actually waited for me
other than that, i do say thank you to shopkeepers when purchasing things/food or wtv so yerp
only one of my friends thanks drivers when they stop for him aha bcos all my friends sux![]()
yes once i get a ticket from them and turn and say thanks when im getting off. yes to shop keepers since it's super rude to collect a receipt from them and just walk off? and yes at zebra crossings or generally people who stop for me to cross as a pedestrian. don't like being rushed across a road though.
i hate people who say thank you when there's nothing to thank for though like a few days ago my neighbour got a package for me and i went to get it, said thanks, and they said thank you back? wat? doesnt make sense.
I always say thankyou you shop keepers and people who serve me. With bus drivers, if they are nice and friendly then yeah I'll say thanks and maybe even start conversation with them. But if they are rude bus drivers who just don't want to be there then I just scan my smartrider and leave. Also if the bus is packed and there's so many people waiting to get off behind me, i'll just get off.
yes i always say thank you its bad manners if you don't!! they have took time out of there day to drive you, serve you or whatever least you can do is say thank you... Thank you gina for making this thread
