We were moving to DigitalOcean in May when this database issue first came up. I think Recursion is a big fed up at this point.

Why is the lack of new posts that big of a deal. Can you not just browse the forum without it until it's back?

Because I'm sure about 80% of the forum use new posts to see what's new and post from that.

So removing that is obviously going to impact the amount of posts.

It's not a permanent removal so just have some patience.

I know it's not permanent but it'll last several more days most likely and it's effort to even use the forum without it.

I used to alternate between new posts and activity stream anyway, so it's not that big of a deal, it deals feel a bit odd, but it's not a huge difference.

The problem I'm facing, and probably a few are on the forum is that if you're on the mobile skin you can't just scroll through the forum for the new posts. You have to go in forums or even sub forums to even begin looking at it. Yeah you can see if there are new posts in a forum, but the icon pretty much looks the same colour if there aren't too.

It's annoying without New Posts, it's not just because I want to post on the forum, as I have been doing a bit, but it's making it near impossible in my department. We have pages on all (ex) management and we can't complete them unless we go through page after page of announcements which isn't good if a member of staff doesn't know if they've had a name change or when they were staff from and to.

I know it's a short term problem, but it's not just a simple scroll down the forum/use activity stream for some people.
