    Think of it like a Board of Directors. Farage wants to resign as a Director or CEO but remain a member of the company. The other Directors decline his resignation and want him to continue as the CEO to appease the shareholders.

    That's the worst analogy ever but it will do for now.

    That does make a lot more sense, but the party really should have just said "Nigel Farage is not stepping down anymore" and not beat around the bush

    You're right that was a bad analogy could have lit just used the real situation (he "wanted" to resign as leader but stay on in the party) but yeah it's all a bit of a farce really

    He done the right thing any leader would do with a disaster of number of seats won, but they rejected his resignation because he done an amazing job bringing UKIP to become the third biggest party in united kingdom.

    I thought that too, but he has agreed to stay... you can't 'reject' a resignation completely.
