Also today I learned that Welsh is a recognised language in Argentina...

it's a small language, yes, dying, no. there's more effort and funding and laws going to preserve it now than ever!

and yes, 150 years ago this year a small group of colonists went out to Patagonia to set up a colony and they all speak Welsh there too! we've had tons of stories this year in the paper about it

it gives you an advantage over quite a lot of other jobs in wales - my company is employing advertising staff and they're looking for someone who speaks welsh when there's obv gonna be more english speakers...

Welsh bacc not speaking welsh. it's like a qualification in colleges (i think maybe schools now too) about Welsh culture and a load of other rubbish. you don't learn any welsh language in it

I agree speaking Welsh gets you a long way. most of my friends speak fluently and it can help you in employment a lot!

yeah it's pointless. they told us it'll give us a huge advantage when applying for jobs and such and no employer has been interested in it so far (although i got a job anyway so idc)
