I've always liked Corbyn. I'm 100% against him on policy, well maybe 99% given he was against the Iraq war and wanted to leave the EU, but I like the fact he has stuck to his principles for the last forty years. I respect conviction politicians and he's one of them even if he is a virtual communist opposed to me on everything. He's a seemingly modest man who actually engages with people rather than be driven around by security services and make vapid speeches to party loyalists.

I want him to stay, for a few reasons. I think he's a thousand times better than the slimy Blairites which now infest Labour and Conservative parties. I like his no spin style of talking. Another reason is that he's helping to demolish the Labour Party which needs to go down the plughole as it did in Scotland.

When do we find out the result of the no-confidence motion? I'm aware the ballot closes at 4pm and I can only assume we find out shortly after that this evening (hopefully)?

A motion of no confidence in Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has been passed by the party's MPs.

The 176-40 vote, which is not binding, follows resignations from the shadow cabinet and calls on Mr Corbyn to quit.

I hope his last act in charge is to draw up a petition asking for a revote, just to piss everyone off

    Labour leadership election now official.

Ideal time for Conservatives to call a snap election. Labour in absolute chaos and Ukip without a leader.

I actually agree that Corbyn probably needs replacing to have an effective opposition but this is too funny

It would be, if they could legally do so

That'd be my first act as Prime Minister tbh, to bin that absurd Fixed-Term Parliament Act. Said at the time it was an assault/insult to our constitution.
