Just ignore GommeInc, I've been gaming for 10 years and a noob is generally an assy newbie, if someone is new to something, doesn't know what to do and annoys people because of it, they are a noob, end of. Gommi writes essays on the history and ethics on the word noob, but he's just doing it for attention and i'm sure he hasn't played one MMO/FPS (where the word noob is appropriate) in his entire life.
