If your iPod is still in warranty, then you are entitled to a refund or a repair. However, you are not allowed it if your iPod is damaged in any way, cosmetic or otherwise. iPods have a lithium battery, meaning that it will eventually wear out, meaning it will not work properly.

@ Ross: Your lithium battery has probably worn off. A regular IPOD battery lasts a year under minimal usage. You probably used yours alot and I can easily imagine the battery going in 7 months. Just because it charges doesn't mean the battery isn't working. The only difference is the electricity from the plug is powering your IPOD instead of the battery.

@ TealArms: I think you have to buy the warranty. I know Best Buy offers one but you have to purchase it within 30 days of purchasing your IPOD. Apple also offers a warranty on the IPOD website I believe.

I had other people I was going to respond to but I forgot what they said and who they are so sorry!

See! I'm right! They're complete rubbish! Ok, here's the deal. Have you still got it under warranty? If not, unlucky! Apple just want your money and will design iPods to only last so long. Thus it messes up after the warranty has run out, and guess what? The moron consumer public buys their new version!! Woo hoo! Now to actually avoid this happening follow this simple guide:

Tom's handy guide to buying an MP3 player

Step 1: If it says iPod or 'Apple' on it, don't buy it!

Step 2: Refer to step 1

Step 3: Are you blind, stupid or just both?!
