hmm i wonder if its actually gonna come out?
It was bound to happen "/
Lets go from the top, last night I was typing away finishing my homework on my laptop (I use it for everything basically, powerpanel, homework, everything) for today (Took me till around 1AM), I saved the document and just held the power button as I was extremely tired and couldnt be bothered to shut down properly.
I come to print off my work today and what do I find? "There was a problem with Windows during your last shutdown" or whatever.
I get like 6 options to boot into safe mode, safe mode with networking and stuff, last known good configuration and boot normally.
Every option I choose gives me the same issue, windows starts to load the blue bars move where it says "Windows XP Professional" (The boot screen) but just before the welcome screen appears, it flashes blue with write writing for a split second and restarts...
Im trying to fix the problem as we speak, I dont really care if I have to re-install Windows as I will probably install Vista this time but I do care about retrieving my files. So as I just said im trying to fix it or just going to install a copy of windows to another partition and copy the files over.
Wish me look [:
I know
Im really annoyed that I never kept a backup on anything "/
EDIT: Testing RAM now for any problems.

Oh god... I hope you get PP back off it somehow. It would be really bad if you lost the whole thing after all that work....It was bound to happen "/

If I cant fix it, ill take it to a pro shop to get all my data backed up then ill just install Vista.
I will NOT lose PP.
Just install Vista over a Parition
Or get ERD Commander 2005, very nice Windows-Like GUI that helps to fix/backup your pc etc...
It even lets you do a system restore
http://winternals.com/
you can get it froma torrent site like demonoidWinternals.com
Awww.... I'm really sorry to hear! I always like a little competitionAnyways I am assuming you are using an "older" laptop, which would be the same as myself? I use an old IBM Thinkpad T20 - which isn't the greatest but works... just some advice for the turning off business....
Instead of turning it off set it to go to sleep when you close the lid - its pretty much a shutoff and doesn't use any power, allows it to boot up alot faster too... ya just a thought - and good luck retrieving the files!!
P.S. Do you not develop PP in a webserver environment or did you just install php and a mysql on your comp to work on it?
