Read again and focus on the bit in bold. The guilds you always join are the ones that advertise in trade, and say that 'we aim to do well in ICC, so far we have 7/12!' or something, where it's usually a bunch of casuals who can't play for ****.

I've tried applying to various guilds but get declined cause i didn't have full ICC gear! (When i had the warlock)
and when i (finally) get my priest to 80 its going to be the same :L

And it'll be exactly the same on every other server, lol. Good guilds want good players with good gear. Decent guilds want decent players with decent gear. Bad guilds want anyone. You have to slowly work your way up the chain.
