Yeah, I suppose advances in science at times can be too far in my opinion, but at least in a worst case scenario it would take 6 months for them to develop a vaccine against this flu. As for closing the borders, it is sensible, it is easier to control 50 people who are infected (thus you slow its infection rate) than to control 500+ people are are infected.

Its partly curable. They can cure the symptoms but not the actual disease.
Also, even though they are still containing people who have it, just thing. If everybody on HxF was in a field, and I had it, i would pass it onto, say... 3 people. Then i would be confirmed and thown out of the field. Then those 3 people would of infected 3 people each, making another 9 people infected by the time those 3 people have been confirmed infected they would of infected more and more people.

So it works in a chain.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind these topics, but when people start blatantly e-bullying people, and people start arguing for no reason, it just becomes pointless..

The media are making this far worse than it actually is..

Two people are indeed down with the flu, but as in Mexico it would of started off as one or two people, and now its estimated to be reaching thousands within just a few weeks.

In conclusion i'd rethink that, afterall, you'd like us to keep our borders open and take an incredible risk with this virus and peoples lives.

Would you rather us close the borders when thousands of people have the virus, by which time it would be too late and closing the borders would make no difference? - Just to add, which again shows people here don't know what their talking about, it is confirmed they have swine flu, not suspected.

I now ask; whos' post is ridiculous now.

Ardemax has made a habit of it.
    sorry but what the hell.
    close the borders?
why? because you're scared you might die? no.
there are people from the uk still abroad and if we close the borders, they're in a hell load of trouble.
yes, 2 PEOPLE have been confirmed to have swine flu
who else gives a toss about this, not i sir, not i.

The first batch of test results on 23 patients in Scotland suspected of having swine flu have proved negative.

Uhmm... I swear reading the news and it was saying that in Mexico, in fact only 25 had died from the actual new strain and 7 died in suspicious circumstances LIKE the virus, however alot also died due to other causes & the actual influenzu which has been around all the time.
