Then let pointless posting rule come into play instead of ridiculously strict rules that aren't needed and just put people off
Rules should be less strict, if I wanted to I could go into the entertainment forum and post 'Oh yeah, great film' without watching it. I could go into the book clue thread and post 'Yeah, good book!' without reading it. This is surely the same thing... (And at least someone asking the price is more productive than the examples I gave...)
Oh, and of course, if someone wanted to abuse post count, they'd just spam the leaving forum or any of the pointless post topics, Music, Post any image etc. So to stop people asking the price of items is a bit silly given how the rest of the forum is, you're essentially saying discussion isn't allowed which is the whole point of a forum.

Only issue with that would be the entire point in users getting more rep would be destroyed.I wouldn't.
As I've said before, it would be good if there was a like system that worked with the current reputation. Like could just give/take 1 reputation point - meaning rep power does not affect it (or a % of rep power with a minimum of 1). I wouldn't like the current reputation to just suddenly be deleted. But then you could give reputation through user profiles - like MyBB, basically.
It wouldn't affect new users, but what about the users who have been here for years? I'm not sure, but some may have even paid for that rep (sad, sad times...)
Yeah - I haven't paid for my rep but I wouldn't like it to be deleted.
Then use the pointless posting rule?
I have another idea but I'll post when this one is done or my idea will be VERY contridictory![]()

Well yes, but if there's two identical posts in the trading section where one is legitimate and the other is just there for post count, how on earth are we to know?
You can't use moderator discretion to tell the difference between two seemingly identical posts![]()

If someone is just doing it for post count it'd be obvious because they'd be replying to like every thread
