if I had to watch that for an hour I would hang myself.
8 minute main event and 3 minutes of that was a resthold.

Flair\Carlito sounded okay. The rest sounded poor..

Raw head writer Brian Gewirtz was credited, or blamed, depending on your point of view, for booking Shawn Michaels to pin World Heavyweight champion Edge on his last night on Raw. Gewirtz's explanation was that guy leaving the territory, or brand in this case, has to job on the way out.

Triple H was the power behind the move because when it was questioned, he supported it, which made it close to a done deal. There is a belief backstage that Triple H doesn't want Edge to succeed, noting that he tried to block all previous plans of him to moving to SmackDown and winning the title until Mr. Kennedy went down with an injury, and at this point he couldn't reasonably block it anymore. There was vocal opposition to Edge being pinned, saying that it makes the SmackDown title and champion look secondary. Triple H's argument was that HBK is the biggest tenured star on the brand, and he had just put over Khali, and he needs a big win because he'll be wrestling Cena on PPV again within the next few shows. On the other hand, Michaels suggested doing a non-finish, since from his perspective, the key point of the match was for him to be beat down by Randy Orton to promote their match for tonight at Judgment Day. Michaels said he didn't want to bury the SmackDown title but was told it was Vince McMahon's decision and he wasn't changing it.

As you might imagine, Edge wasn't pleased with the booking decision and he wasn't hiding his dissatisfaction backstage that night. Edge is said to be happy to move over to Smackdown because internally it's considered less political, not to mention that he doesn't have to deal with a certain wrestler as much anymore.

Dave Meltzer is reporting today that Shawn Michaels has a blown out knee. HBK missed last nights house show and is going to try to gut it out tomorrow night at Judgment Day.

This injury is considered serious. This is absolutely terrible news for WWE as there have been a ton of top name injuries as of late.

    More details shortly

WWE quietly released Beth Phoenix from her contract early last week. She was told that creative had nothing for her.
Behind the scenes, Stephanie McMahon, was never a fan of her. She felt as though that she didn't have the "WWE Diva look" due to her inherit bulkiness

In addition to WWE announcing the releases of Scotty 2 Hotty, Ariel and Nick Mitchell (Spirit Squad), PWInsider is reporting that WWE has also released developmental diva Angel Williams. Williams had been working under a WWE deal for Deep South Wrestling for years and was recently brought up to Ohio Valley Wrestling. She was slated to be brought up to the Smackdown roster numerous times as a replacement for Jillian Hall in JBL's Cabinet and as a manager for The Gymini. However, none of the plans worked out.

In Silver Vision's latest newsletter, they talked about some upcoming DVD releases WWE is planning on doing. Silver Vision is WWE's DVD distributor in the UK.

    - The Mr. Perfect DVD set will be called "The Life and Times of Mr. Perfect" and it will be a two disc set. It will be released later this year.

DVD projects scheduled for release in early 2008 are as follows:

    - A twenty disc Summerslam Anthology DVD set will be released.

    - A two disc set on Batista will be released.

    - Another Shawn Michaels DVD set is in the works.

    - A Hell In The Cell DVD set is also scheduled to be released.

In other DVD-related news, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the scheduled three disc "Best Of The Rock" DVD set has been put on hiatus. WWE asked The Rock if he could promote the DVD set when it was to be released in June, but he refused. So well, they might not be releasing it after all.

I cannot wait until the Hennig DVD.

    My dream match:

The Great Khali vs. John Cena for the WWE strap in a 60-minute Ironman Punjabi Prison match.
