I'm really not sure what genre, I really enjoyed Death Note, so anything similar to that. Anything dark really, thrillers, there was a series mentioned in this thread somewhere, which I looked up, it was about a guy who had something attached to his face? like a mask stuck to his head? that sounds interesting if you have any idea as to what I'm mentioning

That's probably Utawarerumono. It's an adventure/drama. Really, really, really good. Very character driven. Not everyones cup of tea, however. It's nothing like Death Note, so I can't really say whether you would like it or not.

If you want a dark thriller, go for Baccano. Or if you think you can handle it, Neon Genesis Evangelion. Probably the most controversial anime series ever. You'll either love it, or absolutely hate it. Personally I think it is one of the best series ever made. You might be better off watching the Rebuild of Evangelion films though.

Code Geass. Everyone loves it except Chris and its pretty similar to Death note (the main character atleast). A lot of psychological battles and thinking, but mixed with a lot of action. Fantastic ending and fantastic story. WATCH. IT.

Hmm, from what you've suggested, I'll probably have a look at Baccano!
