When the freighter folk attacked Otherville, I believe there is an explosion. The scene that implies her death is with Miles and Sawyer where she disappears in the middle of the night.

The house collapses on top of her and Sawyer "saves" her, somewhere in between the same transition Sayid went under supposedly happened to her.

But regardless, in the latest ep they say Sayid was "claimed" like Jack's sister so she definitely had to of had a death/near death experience.
