The Dogen comments pretty much confirm that it's not really Claire and afaik body's can only be claimed if the person is dead.

you see everyone as if the plane had landed
and you see them on the island

so is it just IF the plane landed, but it still hasn't and therefore they're still stuck on the island. it's not some stupid two-world type thing. It's just a 'what if'?
