Lately, WWE's been producing the best RAW episodes in years. SmackDown! is a shambles.

    Unless you're Bryan Clarke...

I know how matches work so I can't keep my eyes off of the guys talking to each other and undertaking the spots. For example, when someone's in the corner and the opponent Irish whips them, their head conveniently goes forward just before the whip.

Also, take note that it's more the WWE camera crew who make it look realistic, as when shots are thrown, etc, the angles change so you can't see them connect.

    WWE News & Notes.

More WWE firings this week. Ariel, Scotty 2 Hotty, Nick Mitchell of the Spirit Squad and Angel Williams were all let go. Stephanie has been on a firing rampage since taking over as Head of Talent Relations, and most of the individuals released were people who she felt had no future in the company or, as she stated when firing Conway, were jobbers for life.

We didn't get any specific reasons for any of these firings, though I suspect Ariel didn't strike her as the type of girl that WWE needed to employ physically, and Williams was just another girl in a company with too many girls that is getting ready to run yet another Diva Search. Mitchell and Scotty were being paid to exist, basically.

WWE also released Henry Godwin. Yes, he had been employed, for quite some time. He had been tagging with Ray Gordy down in Deep South, but they brought Gordy up and teamed him with Fake Kane instead.

It's actually similar to when WWE tried to bring up MNM and wanted to team Johnny Nitro with Chris Cage to get Joey Mercury out of the picture, but Cage got hurt at the last minute. This was Godwin's comeback after having to retire following a broken neck courtesy a Legion of Doom doomsday device gone wrong back in 1997.

Vito also got fired within the last few weeks.

Sabu was released when he showed up for ECW TV last week with no gear and in no condition to perform. The word we got was he was basically asking to be fired. He's been on the bubble forever, and the feeling was that he'd probably make it through WrestleMania because they wanted him to induct Sheik into the Hall of Fame, and after that his future was anyone's guess. Once it became clear that RVD was likely leaving, that future looked bleak.

Speaking of RVD, his last night will be at One Night Stand unless WWE decides to pull him from that show at the last minute. It looks like there is very little chance of him re-signing at this point. It's not a definite that he's going to TNA as nobody in TNA is talking about him.

Of course, for legal reasons they likely wouldn't be able to talk about him much. He's saved his money and could probably make good money on the indy scene for at least a year, and a year down the road God knows what shape WWE will be in and for all anyone knows he could end up back and with a much better deal.

There was a wacky story this week involving a Blackberry phone that was found at a baseball game at Yankee Stadium in April and supposedly belonged to a WWE employee. At first, the story was that the person who found it, Louis Glennon Jr., downloaded a bunch of information from the phone, including phone numbers of celebrities, shared it all with a family member, and then refused to return the phone when WWE requested it.

WWE filed suit. Later, the story changed to where Glennon claimed it was actually Edge's phone, he didn't download anything off it, and the only reason he knew it was Edge's phone was because he called someone on the phone listed as "MOM" and Edge's mom answered. When deputies came knocking on his door, he claimed he sent the phone back to her but had accidentally put on the wrong address. It was returned to him a week later, he said, and he had subsequently re-sent it. This got a fair amount of press locally.

No surprise, but Smackdown was renewed for the 2007/2008 season on the CW.

Helms on his broken neck, to WWE.com: "It turns out that I have two cracked vertebrae, and one of them is pressing into my spinal cord. One is just demolished, and they told me that the pain I had outside my neck was pretty common; they call it pain referral.

One is pressing so far into the spinal cord that I could risk paralysis if I kept going. We get bumps and bruises all the time, and I’ve been to the hospital before thinking something was wrong when I was just banged up, so I thought that this time too. I have a high tolerance for pain, but this pain is 24/7." Surgery went well Monday and he was already texting people on his phone later that afternoon.

Ole Anderson on James Guttman's radio show said he was offered $1500 to appear on the Horseman DVD. He asked if Vince would be signing the check, and when he was told yes he turned it down. He said that in 1984 Vince told him he'd never work for the company again, and so he didn't want Vince to have to go back on his word and be a liar.

Victoria signed a new three-year deal with WWE. She also sold Fat Tony's Pizza, which she owned in Louisville, to a "nice Italian family" who came in one day and "offered an amount we couldn't refuse".

Matt Cappotelli wrote on his Myspace this week: "I just wanted to take a few minutes to tell everyone how thankful I am to have the friends and fans that I do. Your prayers and support through this time in my life has made a huge impact on me and I can't thank everyone enough.

God has been so good to me and the continuous prayers from everyone have been heard. Thanks for caring, thanks for praying, and thanks for not stopping. May God bless your lives and you feel His presence daily. See you all when I see ya!".

Colt Cabana is now in OVW.

The plan as of this week is for Snitsky to be a monster heel on all three brands, which is why his promo deals are airing on Smackdown and Raw lately. This could all change in a heartbeat, though with so many guys out of action it's a more likely possibility now than it was even last week. He may end up being the next big monster for Cena to slay.

Bob Holly should be back in August.

Looks like smackdown this week sucked.
Vickie Guerrero is the new Assistant GM, Mark Henry cut a promo, Batista interview, Batista beating two amazing superstars and Mark Henry who has about 4 moves.

So, ECW ONS's man events contain Cena, Khali, Batista, McMahon and Black Lesnar.
    No thanks.
