City can pay higher wages and the potential of the club and ambition of the club is there for all to see. I don't think Levy wants to splash out high wages and transfer fees on players only for us to fail to qualify. Good and bad depending on how you look at it. It's difficult because some clubs (like Ajax) are waiting to see if City are interested in players (like Suarez) before considering selling him elsewhere because they think can sqeeze a higher fee out of City. The sooner Milner is sold the sooner the transfer window will begin for everyone else.

You should be buying players regardless of CL qualification. Your aim for this season has to be top 4 again and with City strengthen, you'll need to strengthen yourselves to be in with a shot.

Levy is a hard nosed jew, therefore very shrude with money- works both ways for us. We desperately need a decent striker... as the days go by Suarez/Huntelaar/Falcao etc are fading away.

Harry has supposedly drawn up two lists of transfer targets, one if we don't qualify and one if we do. Not sure I believe that anyway, but a number of players we have enquired about are only interested in joining if we are 100% in the CL.

Media spouting a load of crap, suggesting the fees for the Milner deal,

    £18.5m + Ireland
    £20m + Ireland
    £25m + Ireland
    £27.5m + Ireland

Milner is in Manchester and Ireland is in Brum according to some Villa & City ITKs
    As it stands:

AV have offered terms to SI. SI has tentatively agreed to these, however he is looking to MCFC to make up the shortfall. This shortfall is in excess of £1m per year. MCFC have agreed to meet the shortfall for 1 year, not the full 3 years of the contract on offer. Another stumbling block on this is MCFC's insistence that any agreement to "top up" SI's wages be terminated if AV qualify for the CL in the period of the contract.

However, SI's agent is very very keen for this deal to happen. But anybody who knows him won't be surprised in the least to hear that he wants it done at a high value to himself.
Villa will undoubtedly sign Keane from Spurs once this deal happens imo

Been told you have enquired about Jenas and Bentley too, who are supposedly makeweights for Ashley Young... we don't need him.
