That for Sulake to perform a global mute due to "a few users" for this long is proving how inefficient the moderation is, that they can't handle the amount of Habbos or requests sent in to them? :S

I don't remember this happening during the group protests or during the 4Chan Afro-Blocker raids, which crashed servers.

The moderation is the only problem essentially, but I guess the mass desire to make profit is more important than the mass focus on moderation that there was a few years back. It'll be interesting to see what Habbo do, and if they're able to bounce back, but I think not personally.
It was never an issue about moderation IMO. In the last few years, everything that habbo stood for diminished as it pretty much just sold out and dumbed itself to further please the masses. They completely got rid of the filter (though, they did implement something else which is rather stupid), they became WAYYYY MORE lenient with the 'dating' thing--which in turn, allowed it to happen on a greater scale, and it all fell apart once the hotels all merged.

I am very aware that 'laws' pertaining to age of consent and age of legality are different in many regions of the world which I feel also contributes to the whole ordeal.

In all, I blame the V7 update! Kids aren't smart enough to download ShockWave. :blue_doub

Yesss it is bloody inefficient lol. It isn't even a problem in some hotels I believe? I don't think the news has actually hit Brasil or places like Sweden yet (and it only just got to .fi + .fr + .nl an hr or so ago) so a global mute is quite silly. This is one of the only things that actually makes me want something like Hobbas (with powers to ban people for stuff like cybering) on the hotel - but then the whole security issue arises sigh.

What are they covering up, their moderation? It's been exposed, even Becs is appalled lol. As are a few other former community managers with Sulake. Jeffoo posted about it on fb and twitter too

This has got to be the most action Habbo has seen in years! The C4 news was incredibly interesting, and highlights just how easy it is.

Habbo should stick to their principles, this CEO or whoever it is that seems to deny it with typical corporate rubbish should be sacked. Clearly unfit to work for Sulake/Habbo if he can't look after the website and give his users the duty of care they deserve and require. He has kids for goodness sake, he should know how important child safety is.
