Hahaha sounds like you've had the best assortment of teachers possible. I really hope they go extra-strict on GCSE stuff after this year, that would just be really funny. For me anyway, not so much for people younger than I.

well there replacing them soon arn't they? this years yr9 get a easyier IT course, which gives them a choice of double or single giving them a easyier choice with ether 4 or 2 gcses, rather then our gnvq which is 4 gcses in ether 1 slot or 2, which is easy but boring as hell

We were allowed two choices as we had a lot of compulsory subjects, so I chose ones I enjoy which were history and RE.

I'm in yr 8 too, got sats this yr, we have extended learning so have them a yr early. so nxt yr apparently its like a fun year. I don't know much about options. But gcse's at my skl are well out. We have to take 8 set ones. 1 maths, 1 technology (i h8 tech), 3 science (only wna take 1), and 2 english. I would wnt to take maths, 2 english, physics, Ict, art, history and latin, it is outt tho cuz we can only take 11, 8 chosen for us.

I'm in year 9 and have to pick my options by this Friday!!! My advice is to take your time on thinking about it and make sure that you really want to do that subject, and what it could do for you in the future.

Usually you choose about 3 subjects that you want to do gcse in. You have to do the basic subjects like, english, science and maths and in my school I got to pick 3 from: geography, history, art, art and design, DT:rm, DT:cooking, business studies, media studies, health and social care, RE or PE.
Its probably different in different schools though. =]

    ICT Dida (Takes 2 spaces)
    Geography
    Business Studies

I picked Music first, but moved to business
Not necessarily. That varies from school to shcool. Most places seem to choose 4, except we choose 5. We do have more strict methods of choosing than other shcools though, because we have to do a tech, a practical, a humanites, and a language, plus 1 free.

I chose a while ago, and chose music for my tech, history for my humanites, French for my language, Critical thinking AS level for my short course, and I arranged not todo a tech, to do slightly mroe than usual of the compulsory ICT, and to take Geography.

We do compulsory double science, maths and Engluish, plus we do 'complimentary studies' where we do 2 terms of RE but get no qualifications, 1 term of health ed. and 2 terms of ICT where we get a CLAIT level 1 (except I'm doing a level 2 because of the not doing a tech thing) certificate. Most schools around here have compulsory full RE though

All the years before me had to choose 3 , but it changed to 4 because French became un-compulsory when it use to be :p

Just choose what you think will intrest you. If however, you are choosing a subject you have never done beofre, like I did with Buisness and COmmunication Systems, ask what the works consists of and ask for a sylabus from the previous year. I have regretted taking the subject and I do wish I didnt take it.
