Why not change the name? Because Playstation is a recognised brand throughout the world, and PS3 makes it sound like progress is actually being made over the PS2. It's one of the reasons we have an Xbox 360 instead of an Xbox 2 - the name PS3 would immediately sound more advanced because it has a larger number. Of course, everyone knows that Xbox 360 is not exactly a stellar name; Microsoft probably would have done better to go with Xbox Next.

Oh and don't forget - it's not just 360 games that will be £50, PS3 games will too. It's inevitable seeing as games are costing more money to make with the fancy graphics. (Of course, you could just go to ASDA or Tesco where all the games are £39.97)

I wouldn't exactly say advancing the number to another one just one step above it sounds very progressive.

Actually, it just sounds like the sequel of it's predecessor, which coincidentaly, is what the Playstation's games have been- sequels of one another, which get very boring very quickly. On the other hand, with the 360 in front of the Xbox, it gives buyers a different sense of progression.

This is what truly defines a Next-Gen console- change. Breaking out of the box and disregarding all rules of it's previous gameplay and the idea that revolves around it. It just baffles me how people claim over and over again how the Rev won't be Next-Gen simply because of the graphics when everything else in the console has had a complete makeover.

We haven't even seen the finished Console yet! The Graphics might be amazing!
