wow loading time... and no, i own a psp and the loading time is almost nothing. And how big are the DS lite screens?

And so what a touch screen, its not all its cracked up to be.

I also find the shape of the DS hard to hold in my hand. not sure if its just me but yeh...

And if ur not sure of the numbers about the online play don't post.
I am not doubting it is wrong because microsoft charges money.
But PS2 is the most widly used online for gaming.

The PSP, I think, is criticized for size because it has the largest single dimension of any of the handhelds, and that makes it look larger visually. I suspect also that the hinged aspect of the DS makes its width seem more appropriate, whereas the PSP, though thinner, seems like a solid thick brick.

How about actually playing a DS title, then telling the gaming community that the touch screen isn't 'all its cracked up to be.' And complaining that the DS has cartoon graphics which mean its kiddy is no valid argument either. With that logic, Hentai would be kiddy because it has cartoon graphics and its not realistic. :eusa_clap

Actually, what I said was I was unsure about the figures (a.k.a Numbers), but I know for a fact that the DS's online play grew extremely rapidly. And why shouldn't I post? I post facts, supported by people that critique gadgets for a living. You posted your own opinions. Stop and think, it helps.

No, the PS2 isn't most widely used for online gaming- it's computers. :rolleyes: The PS2's online is a joke- Xbox Live is worth the money.

Accept the fact that the DS is better than the PSP. Sony has.

Sony stole the market away from nintendo and they have it wrapted around their finger with hand held units.

And I have played Ds games, ive used my bros DS. Myself I don't like it.
The games arnt as good as the one i have on the PSP.
The DS lacks in graphics that the PSP has, now THAT is a fact not some opnion.

o_O The DS already had the market. The DS Lite was made to expand it by reaching buyers who disliked the original DS' aesthetics. And why companies would want to take away customers from another company? Profit! I thought this was logical.

Nope. Nintendo still owns the handheld market, actually. While Sony promote the PSP as a gaming handheld, the reality of it is that it isn't competing with the Nintendo DS, no no, lol. It's competing with every other multimedia handheld out there, iPod Videos included. Sony does not paly nice with Apple, or Nintendo, and they wanted to make a product that would wipe them out at the same time. Clever, yes. Reality, no. The iPod still continues to be a very successful MP3/video player and the Nintendo DS is still dominating the gaming handheld market.

It depends which games you played, really. Like I said before, online games offer the most for your money.

Like I said before: With that logic, you'd call Hentai kiddy because its made with cartoon graphics and does not look realistic.

You take all this to seriously, why do you quote everyone that says something good about the psp and try and prove them wrong?
People buy what they think suits them, Like if I was still intrested in games like pokemon and mario that I probably would of liked when I was 10 I would buy a DS but I bought a psp because it has games I enjoy. Also has good graphics in my opinion for a handheld console.

"As Fyta has said" is becoming common in my posts, but I'm going to have to say it again

Anyway, as he said, the PSP in no way has the handheld market wrapped around its (rather chunky) finger. The DS is a few million units ahead in Japan, which is a lot when it comes to systems. The battle is a bit closer in the US and UK, but the DS is still largely on top.

As for why Nintendo would release the DS Lite, why don't we apply that question to another example or two:

Why did Sony release the PS2 Slimline?
Why did Apple release the iPod Nano?

Both are market leaders, and both have the same answer: to make money, and appeal to a wider demographic.

I quote them so it'll be convenient for readers to find the post to which I was making a rebuttal for, but that's besides the point. I wouldn't have to prove them wrong if what they were saying was true, now would I?

You see, because people, especially company loyalists (fanboys) defend a company's products with their eyes closed, they tend to follow the same trend and believe the same false content. For example, many people tend to label the Nintendo DS as 'kiddy' without knowing how to support their argument. If you are one of those people, I have two words for you: Loco Roco. But I digress...

Things that are fun aren't necessarily the best looking. Take flash games for example. The majority are horribly drawn and still manage to be Internet favorites. There is a difference between kiddy and childish games. Childish games are games like GTA that involve nothing but killing and senseless violence from point A to point B. Kiddy games are games for kids like Elmo's ABC's and Sesame Street Land. Most PSP fanboys got a PSP solely because they were afraid to be called kiddy. If you cared so much about your image, then you would stop playing games entirely, get a job, and stop mooching off your parents.

The PSP is losing, and no amount of excuses will save it's pathetic deficit.
