Limewire isnt legal, and there is no trial. Its all free, you can just get the pro version which also is illegal

    Get Napster

Depends on what youre using it for, but I use it and its great. For 10$ a month (not sure how much that is in UK), you can listen to any song you want to (unless its buy-only). Its meant as a deal for mp3-owners. For some mp3 players you can buy it for 10$ a month and put any songs, how ever many songs you like on your mp3 player (the catch is when you stop paying for the 10$ service a month, the songs dissappear). I have a way of 'aquiring' these songs by playing the song on napster and using a recorder on my computer to get them. Ive gotten nearly 2000 songs like that.

Yes it is legal, I have a licence for the program and for the music I download. (I pay for the premium version).

I think you must own a copy on the song then that makes it legal although i am not sure.

It really is.. it's a filesharing program, if it was completely illegal it would have been shut down ages ago (everyone knows about it), but the fact is that downloading music isn't what it was primarily made for. The terms of service say that you have to use it for legal purposes (such as sharing documents, pictures and self-made audio/video files), and the program and its owners are in no way responsible for you breaching that contract, hence why it is still legal in essence. Of course, most people use it in an illicit way.
