I've been in one but ended a month after. We mostly talked to each other by the phone and were always texting each other. But knowing that you may not ever meet up is actually quite hard and that's what ends it.

I dont believe in em, you cant have a relationship's entirely over the phone, or by letters, the same's true with the internet. Short of meeting someone you only have a very limited knowledge of them, and only what they choose to portray, 80% of communications isnt verbal, so internet relationships miss about 80% of the person so there no way people can truely know each other.
Friends? sure, you dont need to know if youd like em in real life, there fun to talk to on the net, thats all thats important.
But a relationship, its just not enough "/

But u could be lying and then you end up hurting the person all together and you cant tell how they feel unless u meet them to be honest! There is webcam and audio plus you could always phone each other to make sure its not a pervert or pedo. Thats why webcams are useful

What annoys me about online realationships is that people are like omg ur dump and they got a new internet Lover by the end of the day

I also think that the people can get to clingy to you and spec you to be there all the time, talking to them, when u cant , u have a life as well to live, they can also think they control you (happenend to me) and it was annoying saying whoi could go out places with and what to do etc,

Theres also no physical side to the realationship which can work but rarely, i would just stay dont set urself up for heratbreak with the person because thats the worse thing you can do.

Having friends online is good because sometimes you can talk about things which you cant in real life face to face but taking it a couple of step faward and turning it to a relationship is in my point of view is not safe and can cause you to be nurvous in real life for example if you date all the time online and stuf, and you reach the age of lets say 24 and you want to get a gf in real life etc you wont have any real life experiances, however if you start from young lets say 15 to have 'real life gf or bf then in the future you wont have that problem, if im wrong then correct me. But i do recpect other peoples choices as its there life.
