If that was a direct reply to my comment, I'd just like to say, that is from my experiences. As I'm considered as "social suicide" just to talk to, I don't know alot of popular people so I don't really know what they are like.

Ps. Talk to popular people before impressing that whole "bully smart a**e" persona.

Nah wasn't in reply to you at all actually, and I don't see how it could have been as you didn't say anything to contradict any of my teachings. Sorry if you felt it was a jibe at you.

When I was a kid, I was a new kid a school, bit geeky like...and the key is confidence.

Well he had it, he talked to the girls, before he new it he was popular, the only problem was, all the 'Unpopular people' Hated him.

alot of good advice earlier and they are right because i did it.
i hung out half with my 'unpopular' friends and half with the popular crew, and as the summer holidays merged i started going out more and more with the popular crew and never with the unpopular friends as they simply didnt go out.., i then merged into the popular crew completely, well i merged into to 2 popular crews actually which was sound. its been the best thing thats happened to me.

all i can say is just play it cool, dont let out much information that ppl could laugh at, and nothing personal coz ppl dont wanna hear about ur problems and home life, they are just interested in hanging out with u and getting to know you. Go for a wise popular group, if you like music, choose the chiller group, footie then go for the styler group, and apply urself to those groups in clothing and accesories and so on.

Clothes are a BIG factor too, as it's obvious that popular people don't walk round wearing high tech trainers or donnay trackies. My advice is if you can't afford to buy these clothes, get a job and earn the money so you can buy nice looking clothing. Also having an old mobile doesn't work too.

what year are in? 'cause usually them kinda groups form at the start of school.
if you dont have the guts to talk to "popular" people in person straight away, get their msn on someone and start talking to them on there first, and then like after u've been talking to them a while just walk past n say alright or something. then build it up.

+ what flying jesus said, yeee thats how most people get respect. it sounds harsh but seriously if ppl find wot ur saying funny they'll like u more

personally, i'd hate it if i was in the popular group.

i'm quite popular at school, liked by alot of people, including the popular kids, but really, it sucks being around them, just find some friends who take you as yourself.
