Your idea is going to fail, unless you have proper news reporters in the real world .. places like Iraq where they risk their own lives.

I assume you'll get your news from the net, unless you do what I said above - you'll always be late.

1) The money you spent on domain hosting.
2) If you can't code/slice or anything, the money on that, scripts and getting your layout coded.

Does MSN, yahoo and all them sites have news reporters around the world risking their own lives? no the BBC and other major news places do, most of the big ones don't. (btw big and major are diffrent)

Ok, being a sheep, you are following someone/something.

The big hype with SN ages ago, everyone wanted to do a news site - although there's a 97% failure rate.

With SN doing well, and being offer [x] amount of money for their site - you want to follow in their steps and be the next `big news site`.
