Hmm could forsee quite a lot of newbies being bullied then. I don't think there is anything wrong with the present system just a bit of an over reaction to the recent events where work got a bit behind because of exams and stuff.

I don't think -rep should be removed at all (in the remove thread). Unless, it's offencive. If it's pointless, then the user can revenge and give it back. I think all users should see who the rep was from, that way they could rep back and wouldn't get confused on who -repped them and take a guess and get it wrong.

What if the user has more rep power than the other person - then it wouldn't be much of a revenge rep if you take off 2 and he took 6 off you...

I think rep power should be one, for everyone.

No, some people -rep for the stupidest reasons.

Revenge reps get deleted (unless there is a valid reason). Rep power being one, or maybe another idea.

Remember most ideas people give you can't actully do. but i think this one would work.

I don't think there is a reason for it. Because posts aren't necessarily an indicator.


I (may) have a better idea, 3GO made me think about it. What about rep power being solely based on how long you've been here? Easier indicator, and also provides incentives not to get banned.

Actually i think this is more on the right track, although maybe made harsher..
No one can see who repped them, revenge repping is stopped.
No one should be able to have rep removed, pointless or not. Since alot of people just seem to get any negative rep removed, regardless of weather it was valid or not. All opinions how ever stupid they may seem should be counted. People always get alot of stupid + rep as well, so i think it all evens out.
People should also no longer get free rep, or be able to buy rep. If that were done, firstly there would be less work for the manager in charge of rep, the only rep that needs to be delt with is if it breaks one of the forums actual rules. Avoideing word filter and such. Secondly, the rep points someone had would be a much truer representation of the reputation on the forums.

But i know thats never gona happen, which is why i havent really said it before, buying rep brings in to much money, as does VIP which i belive one of the main selling points of is being able to see who repped u.
