Some deaf people can only comunicate with sign language. Others lip read but think how annoying that would be, and then when you tried to speak back nobody would be able to understand you. Imagine how lonely you would be. I mean, not many people no sign language, you would only ever be able to talk to your family maybe if they had learnt it. I wouldnt be able to live without talking or listening to my music but if you were blind all your life you wouldnt no if you were ugly or pretty which maybe isnt such a bad thing. U really wouldnt judge people on looks. I think if i had to choose id prefer to be blind. And to any blind or deaf people out there, good on u, your a stronger person then me! And Janeh, it could happen, someone could attack you and say... Lets not get into that.

yes but if blind, you coulnt get up and get stuff from the fridge, go for a walk? view art, or use a forum, wich mainly requires reading? yes u could get the computer to do it for you, but think how slow and annoying that would be "/

    Not a very fair question...but I'll answer.

I can't decide what I rely on more, sound or sight?
I love music, I love art, but I think loss of sight has more disadvantages than loss of sound.
I would feel nervous not being able to navigate myself through sight, and I love to read.
Saying that, one of my faviroute music artists is Ray Charles, and he was blind, yet he still managed to live a very successful life in music, which I don't think he would of been able to acheive if he was deaf instead of blind.
Alot of people who are born deaf usually have speech problems aswell, I don't know whether your question meant to be suddenly struck with the disability during life, or born with it, but...although it's very difficult to choose, and neither would be too pleasant, I'd rather be deaf.

Deaf for sure. I would be so curious as to what the world, family, and friends looked like if I was blind. I could live with being deaf. You can still read, write, and communicate. Being deaf is definately not as big of a disadvantage than being blind is.

Dont forget stevie wonder, or ray charles, who were always blind and stevie wonder has been comming out with songs since the 70's, and just made a song this year. Everyone thinks you are completely useless and you cant do anything when you are blind.

WTH? That is the most depressing thing that I have ever heard in my entire life. That must mean a massage chair has a very good tune huh?

It's hard for me to say as, when I was in school I was nominated to visit a local Deaf and Blind Hospice in my local town. I witnessed a lot of hurtful and disturbing images, and quite frankly I wouldn't know how I'd be likely to survive with condition's such as that. My nan is deaf and she has a hearing aid but has no effect. It's a hard life....
