My opinion is that it was done on purpose by one of the staff members (or maybe an accident), and the other staff closed the hotel trying to fix it, but couldn't, and so now they are pretending that everyone being unbanned is what they wanted all along.

Here is what the staff have basically told us: "Awwww poor hacker, you have been banned for a long time. But you can be unbanned now. btw you can keep all that stuff that you stole because you've really learnt a lesson! well done *pats back* everyone else, you just go back to normal. you get nothing because you weren't bad enough to steal it in the first place"

I wish I HAD went around and stole passwords, because at least now, even if I had been unpermed, I'd have it all back and I'd be 100x richer.
