That's interesting. I would never have imagined that the prison officers would do such a thing.

I guess it's good, though. Because it does mean prisoners can't hear the guards approach, which means they can easily eavesdrop.

Prisons do seem to soft, but slippers don't seem to be a big deal so they shouldn't complain about wearing them. I think prisoners should be comforatble enough so they need sleep as thats a basic human right but they shouldn't ahve anyh priviliges. I would say that prisoners should all be made to work, so that thye're at least paying for their keep in some way as there must be plenty of low-skilled heavy-labour needing jobs that they can work on, and they shouldn't be givena s much time jsut to socialise or ahve free tiem. Prison should be a punishment.
