ZL2, wont be DNS as otherwise PING would report the hostname as not working.

Yes.
Removed - sadly, no change.I tell everyone this that ever reports networking problems, run symnrt - will remove traces of norton internet security - reason being is that most computers (other then self-built) generally come with it pre-installed. You can grab it from http://www.symantec.com/symnrt - You'd be suprised how many computers I've fixed that had a "norton" issue even though it wasnt actively installed...
Done.
Again, no change ;[.
Any more suggestions? x

Click Start->Run, type in "cmd" (without quotes), and press okay, you'll get a black window pop up.
Run the following commands, each time without the quotes, and press enter/return after each one
Command 1: "netsh int ip reset c:\reset.log"
Command 2: "netsh winsock reset"
Command 3: "netsh firewall reset"
Then reboot your computer, if your running vista let me know as the instructions are slightly different if you have UAC on.

Before I go into this, I think you should know right now i'm using my mum's laptop wirelessly, so there can't be a problem with the router - can there?
My desktop PC runs wirelessly too with the aid of the Belkin Wireless G USB adapter I have.
Anything else? x

Only reason I asked is there is a known problem with the BT Homehub and this. If you've got a DMZ setup on your router then that too could come into play, however now im more inclined to say its a firewall issue. You've shown you can communicate with the remote server, just not on socket 80 (http traffic), so question is whats stopping that? However you've said your only running windows firewall, which you've tried disabling? and if you've run the commands i've said it's been reset too. One thing left to double check:
Open up your HOSTS file
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
in something like notepad, and paste back here - just want to make sure that you've not been hikacked in the sense the domains are pointing elsewhere.

Well, for starters, I don't use a BT Homehub.
And yeah, I have tried disabling my windows firewall, it did nothing. Neither did the commands you advised me to do.
This really has confused me.
Just 'cause it looks tidier, the hosts file can be found in the following spoiler:
# New HOSTS file brought to you by X
#
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 Localhost

127.0.0.1 88.255.90.60
127.0.0.1 opal.spod.org

127.0.0.1 193.165.167.2
127.0.0.1 152.66.249.135
I await your next instruction!
Thanks!

EDIT: Just remembered! It was suggested to me by a member of another forum that I downloaded a 'fix' for HOSTS files - that didn't work.
Just thought you might want to know why the guy's email is there (removed incase.. yeah).
