There really isn't anything decent for what you're after in your price range in any of the two shops. Is there no computer shops near you that you could buy from? For instance www.aria.co.uk is near me.

If I was you and I had 500, get a job or w.e save up i think its.. 600-700 for a low-end iMac, the entry level refurb ones are good enough. or use your educational discount.
