Actually BUGS are the dominant species especially the nasty buggers such as army ants which can literally plow through entire villages like they weren't there eating human and animal alike without any care for reprecussions

But also if kill every animal we will then go extinct our selves due to lack of food due to the food chain going out the window so really it is in our best intrest to not just kill everything.

What are you talking about Humans are the dominant species!

    Here is a definition:
    1. Exercising the most influence or control.
    2. Most prominent, as in position; ascendant.
    3. Genetics Of, relating to, or being an allele that produces the same phenotypic effect whether inherited with a homozygous or heterozygous allele.
    4. Ecology Of, relating to, or being a species that is most characteristic of an ecological community and usually determines the presence, abundance, and type of other species.
    5. Music Relating to or based on the fifth tone of a diatonic scale.
I think you'd find while insects are very important to the planet.. humans have the most influence and control over Earth if we wanted to we could launch a Nuke and wipe out every living thing on the planet. We have the power to cause other species to go extinct... We also control almost 85% of the earths land surface as it says below

Scientists have produced the first map that traces human influence on the natural world, and the numbers are big. Overall, 83 percent of the total land surface and 98 percent of the areas where it is possible to grow the world's three main crops—rice, wheat, and maize—is directly influenced by human activities.
I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s okay, because we’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know. It was the best. A daft old man who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it. I always meant to take it back. Oh, that box, Amy, you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you. Big and little at the same time. Brand-new and ancient and the bluest blue ever. And the times we had, eh? Would had…Never had. In your dreams, they’ll still be there. The Doctor and Amy Pond and the days that never came.

That's not particularly a good reason, though. Unless you cheer on the aliens in War of the Worlds et al.

no animal at all does anything for humanity really - but that dosn't give us the right to kill them all :S
what have they ever done TO us is the real question isnt it.. why should we sit there and kill them all, they do nothing to us to give us the right to make a "coat" out of them.
