American Dad! is another Seth McFarlance creation. I prefer it because it is even more adult-orientated than Family Guy, but the humour is far more intelligent and over people's heads rather than blatant like the aforementioned.

Family guy for most of the reasons stated above.
Family Guy gets pretty boring though because all it is, is
"This is worst then the time...*clip*"
"well at least its not like the time... *clip*"

The simpsons has much more clever humour in it, as well as some blatant stupid humour.
but family guy tends to just be very immature adultish jokes, like preadult jokes.
Get's annoying to when its like "that reminds me of the time when..."
but i love the simpsons will always be amazing at the time, and it's still good to watch,
however i do enjoy watching family guy because when i watch it, which is rarely the episodes are new to me
