I don't think he means a mathematical term.

I think he means something like

Bronze, "then" silver "then" blabla

I went to work > Had chips for lunch > went home > had tea! (crap example I know...)

The changes I think that need to be implemented;

• Remove Ruby, and knock each stage down 1 place.
• If not, then switch Ruby and Sapphire around, and lower the platinum by a small ammount.

Thats all I can think of right now, but Ruby is horrible, Sapphire is worth more than Ruby and Platinum is far too high.

I think it's good that platinum is so high because it's a huge goal that will take a lot of time and work so personally, I think platinum should be left as it is. However, I think it's a shame that so many users are now going to have to go through Ruby all over again. I hated the rank and would much prefer to go through Sapphire since it's a colour I've never had (as I'm sure others would) - It just seems silly to have to repeat it.
