I see the same old argument is being dragged up about the bot so I'm not going to give a same old reply I have discussed it at length in the other thread(s).

There will no doubt be a public consultation on the future of the feed and it is a bit like marmite, you either love it or you hate it. It was just an idea. In my mind, it isn't failing but in others it is. I've said what my objectives were and they've been met.

I will say about the comments box, yeah its there for discussion but that rarely happens. The issue we were having was that not enough people were reading the news because they'd rather just look on the forum than check the site. That meant zero discussion was happening in the comments box and it was simply being spammed and the reporters began to feel like they were working hard to post reports and they weren't even getting read.

I am sure all of the arguments on both sides will be discussed by the management.

I'm sympathising with the news writers now and I think a compromise is needed, like suggested before, a sub forum!
