In times of recession, soldiers' service awards had to be sold for cash. Here we see the replacement award for Longest-Serving Soldier in Iraq: a belly bounce with the President himself.

Reporter: How do you feel after having been blessed with such an honour?
Soldier: Oh it feels..great. Really. I joined the troops in 2003. Had countless near death experiences, lost my wife to my brother, didn't even get visitation rights. And to come home and rub bellies with Mr President himself, it truly makes it all worthwhile. I'd take this over the Purple Heart any day.

On an unrelated note, thousands of soldiers quit the next day. Applications now open.
