It'll either be the worst year ever or... just another normal year, oh by the way is the Large Hadron Collider any closer to ending the world yet

Erm something happened to it and they had to shut it down for the winter (I think it used too much energy or something), they'll be resuming it in spring/summer I think so yay. I wanted them to do it in 08 but oh well.

At least get it right. December the 21st 2012 is the day when the Mayan's long count calender ends. Nowhere does anything say about the world ending on this day, nothing happened last time and nothing will happen this time. The thing you're on about that predicted 9/11 is probably Nostradamus, I'm not even sure if that predicted it either. So no, the only thing that's going to happen is our solar system is going under the middle of the Milky Way, and solar flares will be at their most active as Jupiter and Saturn align.

I wasn't on about Nostradamus, although he did predict that. It said in the paper on the 2nd january that the Mayans predicted 9/11 aswell. I'm surprised they did.

The mayans are some of the most intelligent people to have ever lived. They have predicted several historical events accurately and the 2012 prediction is just that something very important will happen to the world, not that it's definitely going to end, etc.

Also, anyone that relates the Y2K bug and any other recent doomsday event to this prediction is a fool.

Pretty stupid to believe any of this lol, they do this everytime "I predict 2004 end of world" 2004 nothing happened, oh wait lets change it to 2012 and make more money for our gadgets and tshirts and so on.

Yes, an ancient race of people is going to end its calendar in 2012 to make some serious $$$ from t-shirts...
