I passed my theory last week, first time. didnt have the disc, just a book that i looked at once or twice before i booked it, then read it for about half an hour before the test :p also done two practice tests the night before
got 47/50 and 65/75
doing my practical when i get back from my holiday

It is easy (the written part) but the hazard perception can catch you out.

It might be a good idea to borrow someone's hazard perception dvd/cd-rom to get a feel for it first.
