Bare in mind though that a lot of the students they send over here are their most intelligent one's. Most Indian's & Chinese students in the UK excel over here or do just average, in their own countries though they'd be genius's so they're sent over here.

This isn't always the case though.

It's in our Asian genes tbh.

On a more serious note, I believe it has to do with upbringing.

Here in Singapore, everyone gets an equal opportunity to learn. I believe all of us can excel well in our studies, simply because we have been told from young that, without education, you cannot be successful in life.

Our parents put much emphasis on the importance of education.
We can accept that because we know that the working world is a very competitive one and will continue to become even more competitive for our generation.

    Default It's True

This is true - I think they generally work harder.

Maybe religion has an effect aswell. Religions in the eastern world are slightly more strict, creating discipline. I think this is a good thing - People are encouraged to work harder according to the way they were brought up.

It's all down to parents. Especially if your parents have just come over. They know how hard and not cheap education is back in the homeland.

Same goes for the grandparents. they did the same to the parents

Because they have to try harder. Especially if they're immigrants.

If you see documentaries feturing chinese students in school i think you'll find that they both want to go and throughly enjoy school.

    They both work very hard.
