Not really, the only difference is you choose where to go and where to look, you're still going to follow the same path, like I said developers and probably Microsoft will find ways to hit as many genres as possible, even if it means making gun controllers that have an anlog stick so you can move with that and use the gun to turn.

Nintendo are a company, just because they have a good image it doesnt mean they aren't in it for the money. Why do you think they have gone to the expanded market? To get money. Wii Fit has sold more copies than Natal is ever likely too, infact to sell as many copies as Wii fit nearly 2/3 of 360 owners will have to own it. There are very few games that can be made for it too because of the inablility to turn.

On rails games are completely different from free FPS's. There are several on rails Resident evil games on the wii I believe. Actually when IGN reviewed Natal he said he missed the feedback of the controller on the driving game and would rather use a wheel. Also the whole point of Natal is not using controllers, why would Microsoft add a controller? Even if they did then it would render Natal virtually useless because both the Wiimote and PS3s motion controller can provide 1 to 1 motion and would be a lot more sensitive.

I am a "rookie" games designer and its what I do in my spare time. I code in Actionscript and Objective-C. I've had a Flash game released that has had over 10,000 views and I've just released my first App (Which I developed along with 1 other person) on the iPhone Appstore and I've got 5 5* reviews and I'm in the process of developing the second game which I would class more as a "proper" game. So yes, I do have a creative mind actually. I also understand how these sort of technologies work, my second app makes heavy useage of the iPhone Accelerometer API (Motion API). If I manage to make any decent money from either of these apps then I will be buying the WiiWare Dev kit and continuing on from there.

What the hell are you talking about, have you ever played a game where you need to talk to people? Imagine Milo but hundreds of different models of him in the game.

Did you quote the wrong person? I don't see how your response directly relates to anything I've said. I'm afraid I don't know any game that completely comprises of conversations with characters and nothing else. I guess Natal could work for that?

The point I'm trying to make is Natal restricts many current genres and expands very few. Maybe it'll branch out to a completely new type of game genre specifically created for Natal's technology.

And for the record, I'm more interested in HOW these ideas would actually work than just being told they're possible. I would actually like Natal to succeed.
