    Does that mean you don't even need a running emulator or whatever? Just apache, PHP and SQL?

    Correct - it is the most efficient way for us to build the flash client whilst still having functionality in a very simple to develop language.

    Wow, would it be able to hold many users? Have you even tried a stress test? It's not everyday I hear of a backend for an online game coded in php :S

    it should?

    we have stress tested the socket server and we will be releasing the benchmark results against smartfox. We figure about 135-150 concurrent users can be held by the server.
