A victorian explorer was once captured by a tribe whose cheif decided that realy, the man should die. However, the cheif was a reasonable man and gave the explorer a choice: the explorer was to make a single statement. If it was true he would be thrown of a high cliff. If it was false, he would be eaten by lions. What clever statement did the explorer make that forced the cheif ot let him go?


Awnser : The Explorer made the statement "I will be killed by the lions" Now if the cheif feeds him to the lions, his statement will have been true, so he should have been thrown of the cliff.But if he is thrown of the cliff the statement would have been false.
