Technically people in private schools don't actually get more time off when it all adds up. I remember when I was looking at getting a scholarship (thank God I didn't, tbh) with a local public school and their days were much longer (something like 08:00 - 16:30) and they went in on Saturdays but had a half day Wednesday. All in all it amounted to about the same time you would spend in a state school it is just structured differently.

i think my parents would rather home educate me then sending me to private/public whatever, it's against everything they believe in. comprehensives/state schools aren't as bad as people make out. i've gone to them all my life and i've got good gcses and predicted AAA for my a levels. if you're intelligent enough you'll do well wherever you go. i have a week off next week but i've only done 3 hours so far this week so not too bothered. i have lit later today but it's raining and i'm not making my hair a mess for 1 lesson.

    yay ive started a debate

im so glad i went to a private school because anyone who knows me will know i struggled my way through secondary education and if i hadnt had the push i got from my school i would have failed majorly, so yknow if you dont have the motivation, have some kinda learning problem or anything like that a private school really helps you

In my opinion you have more of a chance of doing well at private school. I'm not saying that you can't do equally well at state school but at private school you are pushed to succeed whereas at state school you can do as you please. At state school if you get in with the wrong crowd it can affect your future.

I see what your saying, but personally i think it's soley upto the individual's willingness to achieve. If they hae the right attitude, they'd do well in either school. Also, there is alot of pushing that goes on in state or public schools, but like you said, grades are affected by friends. And if you get into the wrong crowd, it can be bad, which is more likely to happen in a public school.

Yes but some people - no matter hard they want to succeed, just can't. Therefore they need certain things to succeed.
